You know that feeling you get when you’re just not sure how something is going to go? You’re heading into a situation where previous experience has told you to watch out. And you just don’t know what to do.
Addressing this feeling is at the core of my dog training programs for humans.
Every situation requires interpretation and an appropriate response. I’m here to help you with both.
When it comes to humans and dogs there is no single manual that’s going to tell you the exact right thing to do all the time. Every dog is different. Every owner is different. Every bit of advice needs the right application.
What sets me apart from most trainers or behaviorists is that I am not pushing any one agenda. I don’t want you to believe in any one particular celebrity trainer or PHD author.
I want you to believe your ability to cohabitate with your animals. The right approach is out there. Your belief will come from learning and practice and finding the right method for you. The result of this journey is a much happier life for you and your canine family.
Why’s my dog doing that?”
And other similar questions. This is how I can help.
work with me
My approach in dog & human training is to provide sessions that deliver maximum results in the least amount of time for my clients. This means selecting information gleaned from 1000s of hours of reading, training and working with animals to provide sessions with the most impact.
Nearly every client with which I’ve worked has had a different need. While some things are applicable to two clients I find it much easier and better for the client to get 1:1 advice.
Finding your way with your dog should be an efficient and rewarding experience. It should be a tailored, hands on experience for you to grow with your animals.
While I will work with dogs during a session to illustrate technique, it is far more valuable for you, the customer, to do your own training with your animals. When you buy ‘dog training services’ you’re going to get more value out of ‘human training services.’
The fastest way to get personalized information is through a Virtual Session. My virtual training sessions are designed to focus on interacting solely with the owner. The goal of these sessions is to perform a comprehensive interview and then guide the owner to the specific, critical resources or change behaviors needed to live a happier life with their dogs.
Do you have a few quick questions you’d love to ask a professional? Fill out my appointment request form for a 30 minute session.
Do you have that nagging feeling there’s just more you should know about raising your puppy than you do? It isn’t an uncommon feeling with first or even second or third time dog owners. There are so many new situations and we all just want to do right by our animals.
“What’s the best thing to do with my puppy in this situation?” and “How can I train Stella to fetch the paper?
It is for these reasons that I provide tailored owner coaching. Sessions are provided in person and virtually. The content of these is designed to meet the goals of the owner and the dog at their place in time.
Sessions are provided in blocks of 3 or 5 lessons and can be renewed to cover more material. Supplemental materials are selected based on owner and dog personalities.
My dog is lunging at other dogs and seems to be getting increasingly aggressive.”
I can help you with the tools and training to increase your understanding of the factors that drive this.

He’s always been attentive and careful of both their physical needs and their situational and emotional comfort levels.
Over the course of a decade I’ve had the pleasure of observing Luke with more than a dozen different dogs that he’s been running, walking, training or just plain loving and playing with. He’s always been attentive and careful of both their physical needs and their situational and emotional comfort levels.

What’s the best way to get my dog to listen to me?”
One command gets you started.
There is no single book on raising a perfect dog any more than there is a single source raising a perfect child. I have made it my goal to understand the methods and reasoning behind as many different dog trainers as possible.
Connecting the right people to the right materials is something in which I find great joy. Even knowing which YouTube channels to recommend supplemental material has become its own special skill. So much of this material works better if you know when to apply it.
